Samsung GALAXY S3 Review

The Samsung Galaxy S3 has a quad-core processor, a 4. Inch 720p display, and it has an 8-megapixel camera. These features are all a part of the light and slim casing that looks sharp. This phone will probably reproduce the success of the Galaxy S2.

Samsung Galaxy S3: The Design

The styling of  Samsung Galaxy S3  is similar to the Galaxy Nexus and they got rid of the look that the S2 had which was rectangular in shape.
The corners of the device are rounded and smooth. There’s no lumps on the back which were found on the nexus and S2.On the edges there’s chrome decorations and the camera is to the back of the casing. The button layout hasn’t changed and you’ll find the home button underneath the screen. There are back keys and a touch sensitive menu on each of its sides.
You can get Samsung Galaxy S3 in white or blue. There’s a brushed-metal effect on the blue model and the white one has a glossy finish. The blue model almost looks black. There will probably be other shades released for this phone model.

Samsung Galaxy S3: The Screen

There’s a 4.8 inch screen and that makes it one of the biggest smartphones you can buy currently. It might be cumbersome to use at first but as you use it you’ll appreciate the great looking videos, and photographs on the larger screen area.
There’s a good resolution at 1,280x720 so the S3 is good for high resolution work. It will make text and icons look sharp. There’s a HD Super AMOLED screen which the Nexus and Note both use.
There’s great color in the AMOLED screens with amazing deep blacks. If you like natural color reproduction, it’s not quite as good as the iPhone 4S.

Samsung Galaxy S3: Processor and Camera

There’s an 8-megapixel camera with resolution that’s the same as the older S2 phone. New trick include a zero shutter-lag trait like the Galaxy Nexus. Another feature suggests your best shot automatically after you have snapped a few picture. The phone bases the picture selection on face recognition and smile detection
One new feature comes from the HTC One X which gives you the ability when recording video to take still pictures. This is great for those memorable moments you don’t want to miss. On the front of the unit is a 2 megapixel camera which you can use for face detection and video calling. It stops the phone from dimming when you look at it.
Samsung Galaxy S3 has a good quad-core processor which operates at 1.4GHz. This is ideal for plowing through videos at high-resolution and games with demanding graphics. The performance of the unit is quite good.
You might wonder if the quad-core is actually needed on this device. There aren’t many apps that stress this processor too much. This shouldn’t worry you because it’s good to have a powerful processor to meet the demands of new more demanding applications that may appear sometime in the future. This processor will also be set to handle the new Android operating system when it comes out.
You get storage options such as 16, 32 or 64GB. The unit has a MicroSD card slot and a removable 2,100mAh battery.

Apps and Software

Samsung Galaxy S3 Review
Samsung Galaxy S3 unit runs on the Android operating system. This is the mobile system from Google. This unit uses the 4.0 operating system which has the nickname “Ice Cream Sandwich.” This is the latest version of Android.
There is an Android interface on the top of Android which is called TouchWiz. This interface is the same as the one on the Galaxy Note and Galaxy S2.
A “Pop up Play” is one of the new features on this phone. You can use this for videos so you can watch them while sending texts. There’s the S beam feature and this allows you to send large files through a Wi-Fi connection.
There’s voice control on this unit. This feature is called S Voice and its bundled into the face unlock feature of the phone. Your phone will need to see your face and voice before it unlocks for you.
The S voice feature is comparable to the Siri voice assistant that is owned by Apple. Some people may find it quite useful while others won’t use it at all. The phone has four controls for waking up. You can get S voice to set an alarm, make a call, tell you the weather, take a photograph or control your music playback.
There’s an Apple exclusive application called Flipboard that makes an appearance on this phone. Use this app to take updates and links from your social networks and make   a magazine style layout with them that looks quite attractive.
If you have plenty of files you can use DropBox because the app comes with two years’ worth of that service. DropBox provides 50GB of space where you can place your files.
The Android system is powerful and flexible and it gives you plenty of options to tinker and customize your phone. There are tools and many options on the phone but this can be a bit overwhelming if you’re new to smartphones.
For those who want a phone that’s a bit easier to use the Apple iOS platform is recommended. For those that like to tinker with their phones the Android system is recommended such as this Samsung Galaxy S3.
